Look, I’m not a mass-produced eligible dude, traditionally occupied by being missing the fun like a spoil sport. I’d bet nobody probably never witnessed me talk much about great dating and relationships. There’s a reason for that.

Dependence is an avoidable human characteristic and intentionally neglected in my values. Let me go on, Here’s the situation, I had no choice but to put the breaks on a solid fling and I felt a great deal for but just carried on to nowhere. I guess you could tell ya it has been a good since I dated. I can’t find the dating with great expectations I once did.

Living free and single isn’t bad. It’s a given that I won’t spend another weekend peacefully watching Jack Bauer (from 24) on my big screen. The primary cause of this case of incidental dating loneliness? This isn’t college, and most ladies I meet at work are taken.

My take-no-holds college buddy, Josh, who will never have dating boredom, informed me he’s now shooting from the same blind as I am. He linked me to the Great Expectations Dating service. Of course, I take to getting to know new gals who share my passions. So I bit the bullet and paid the membership fee to get started.

I told myself, you wouldn’t grovel by being alone when ya haven’t called anyone. As our old baseball coach Chris Neelon often said when his wife wasn’t looking, “Fools lose before they try, Jeff.”

Coach was crazy, and a little out of touch. Even so, the old man was a source of truth in a round about way. He was likable in all ways. This fun series of Dallas singles events I just went to might’ve short circuted the old man’s noggin’.

I actually had a carefree night with some pretty well-situated singles. Called it a night following an exchange of digits, and even grew some professional acquaintances for my company. Score.
